Unlucky in love, Abbey (Bethany Joy Lenz) shares her dating frustrations with her aunt who suggests she write a love letter spelling out her true heart’s desires. Against her nature, she pours her soul out onto the page and sticks the letter in a bottle, throwing it into the harbor. Months later, bottle forgotten, Abbey is paired with Nick (Andrew W. Walker), her boss’s prodigal son, to work on a project together. Their styles clash and Nick would rather be traveling the world than have anything to do with the family business. What neither of them know is that Nick found Abbey’s message in a bottle, and the two have been falling in love through their anonymous online exchanges. When Nick finds out that Abbey is the woman he’s been emailing, he pretends to not know it’s her and uses their online exchanges to win Abbey’s heart in real life. His plan seems to be working, until he reveals to Abbey that he’s her online love. Hurt, Abbey rejects Nick for deceiving her all along. But when Nick writes his own message in a bottle to show Abbey how much he cares for her, Abbey is convinced to give love a chance with Nick.
